Episode 114: Is David Zaslav the New Andy Reid?
Angelo, Rhea, and Jay are back to discuss the absolute ABOMINABLE treatment that David Zaslav has inflicted on Clint Eastwood by dumping Juror #2 into 50 screens for an embarrassingly small limited run before coming to streamers in December. Angelo has a review of the movie and a well-deserved tongue-lashing of everybody's least favorite studio executive.
Then, the gang discuss the new documentary on Netflix, Dirty Pop, which tells the story of Lou Perlman and the boy bands that he discovered and helped blossom into stardom. At issue is the documentary's controversial use of an AI-generated Perlman programmed to look and sound exactly like the real one, reciting Perlman's own words from his autobiography. Is this an acceptable use of technology? Or is it another sign that we're headed even further into a world where you can't even trust your eyes.
All that PLUS: British and Teen Corner, a discussion of Kevin Costner's last days on Yellowstone, and the rise of The Great Sports Debate.
